The hotel is divided into two sections, with one section being a tower undergoing continued exterior renovation work. Scaffolding is erected around the tower and there is potential for noise from 8AM to 4PM, as surface repairs are completed. Most of the work with loud volumes was completed during our closure, but intermittent noise, from tools and equipment, will occur.
Yes, any prepaid and non-refundable reservations arriving during renovation can be cancelled without penalty and refunded. Depending on how you booked, the process may be different, for example pre-paid Online Travel Agency reservations (ie. Expedia) will have you request a waiver of cancellation fees, which will be approved when received by our team.
For direct bookings, you can use the Modify Reservation link on your confirmation email or contact us at halifax-reservations@silverbirchhotels.com to initiate cancellation. For other channels, there will be a similar process and/or you can email us to see if we can request cancellation on your behalf.
While your guest room will be renovated, public areas and hotel amenities may not be accessible during your stay particularly throughout August and early September. This includes our restaurants and courtyard area.
Our pool and fitness center will be open, though there may be temporary closure periods during the day, to facilatate on-going work.
We will offer a complimentary grab and go breakfast each day out of our lobby along with self-serve coffee stations.
There are many options for dine in and delivery to the hotel. The hotel is attached to Scotia Square, where a number of fast food and grab and go outlets serve breakfast and lunch. We are also a short walk from a number of popular restaurants like Tempo (mid-scale), The Bluenose Restaurant (Casual dining with many seafood options), Harbourstone Pour House (mid-scale) and Baton Rouge (mid-scale) within 500 meters of the hotel.
Delivery services such as Uber Eats and Skip the Dishes can also deliver directly to your room.
